THE PLACE TO STAY IN OLD SINGAPORE
Wonderful boutique hotel, excellent location, old world style but exceptionally clean and modern. Nice light breakfast and sweet amenities such as free soft drinks and unlimited bottled water from the mini bar and gummy bears.
Charming and friendly
We loved our stay in Ann Siang House. The location is great, just steps from Chinatown and the metro. Plus, there’s a hawker center a block away for foodies. The room was spacious and comfortable, plus it comes with a satellite phone that guests can take with them as they travel around the city. Best of all, the staff, particularly Kimberly, were super friendly and helpful. They filled us in on where to go and how to get there, then they called for the cab.
Colonial Bespoke Luxury, the real Singapore
After many trips to Singapore, and the well worn road of MBS and other mega hotels, we wanted a return to authenticity, not anonymity. Ann Siang has some of the largest rooms (100 sq meters for a suite) and is beautiful, while residing in a large historic Chinatown building. The interior design is faultless, with Tom Dixon pieces sprinkled liberally throughout. Forget a pool, find “The Other Roof”, a sumptuous cocktail bar beyond compare. There is more in terms of food and drink within and beyond. Located amid every possible other offering within walking distance, this is our new home in Singapore. Our hosts treated us like people, not like someone entering a Los Vegas mega factory. We were greeted with warmth and generosity at every point. I think I’m in love. Ann Siang is a winner.
